How do I know if therapy works for me?

Therapy works when we have been able to build a strong therapeutic rapport where you feel safe and heard. You may notice improvements in your overall mood, relationships, communication and the utilization of coping skills.

What happens during each session?

Each session will be tailored to your specific needs for that day. You can expect a safe environment that is supportive and confidential; where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns freely. At times, I may challenge your thoughts in a healthy and safe way in order for you to be able to get the most out of each session!

What role do I play during therapy?

As the client, you will be an active participant throughout your therapy journey. It is important for you to understand that therapy is a collaborative effort between the two of us. With your engagement, willingness, and honesty your therapy journey can be a positive one.

What should I do if I feel stuck during therapy?

The most important piece to this would be communicating these feelings with me during our session. I will help to explore your triggers and patterns, help you to practice more self care and mindfulness practices within the session and help to reevaluate your goals. I may help by providing some therapy homework between sessions that may help to feel more productive and reengage.

How can I apply what I learn in therapy to daily life?

As you reflect on each session after the conclusion, you maybe able to identify similar patterns to begin working through, setting goals for the week, utilizing coping strategies, challenging your negative beliefs, seeking support when needed, but most importantly BEING KIND AND PATIENT WITH YOURSELF!

What if I am uncomfortable discussing a topic?

If you find yourself feeling uncomfortable about a specific topic, please remember that this is a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I am here to help support you and work with you to navigate any discomfort that you may be experiencing. By doing so, this will help you ensure that you feel heard, understood and respected throughout this process.
